| Welcome to BA Livestock We at BA Livestock, Brian, Elizabeth (Libba) and Bryn Agnew welcome you to our website and thank you for taking a look at our livestock. We welcome any questions or comments you may have. Brian was introduced to horses thru his Mother’s love for horses and started riding Quarter Horses competing in horse shows at 10 years old. Moved to riding bulls in his late teens and rode bulls at the intercollegiate level for 2 years while competing in the IPRA. Brian qualified for the IPRA finals 3 times at IFR13, 14 and 15 in the early to mid 80’s finishing as high as third in the year end standings one year. Brian and Libba met thru mutual friends who Brian was traveling with, Mike and Darlene Fletcher. Libba and Brian were married in 1986 and Brian retired from active competition and started buying, selling and bucking bulls. We first leased the old Burr Andrew’s place at Clarksville, Texas from Burr’s wife Betty and son Sammy. In 1986 we bought the place with a complete rodeo arena and were bucking bulls 7 days a week with bull riders showing up every day wanting to get on bulls. We were also doing a lot of order buying cattle and put together a set of cows that in 1991 we decided to try and breed some bucking bulls to, having grown tired of the difficulty and rarity of finding bulls at sale barns. We went and visited with Jerald Smith and he loaned us 4 Del Rio a NFR bull from Sammy Andrews. Next Jerald loaned us a big brindle NFR fighting bull branded –1 and called Lotto and the next year he loaned us 99 Sportspage another big turn back in the gate Charbray bull. When looking at the cattle in our herd the white and grey cattle generally go back to Sportspage, the brindles and solid colors generally go back to Del Rio and Lotto. We thank Jerald for all the help he has been to us over the years. We attended the first Buckers sale at Mesquite and after not being able to afford some Red Wasp cattle (if I knew then what I know now) we purchased a cow bred to Bodacious. Turns out we have several of that Bo calf’s daughters in our herd. In 2001 we purchased a bull to breed with from Eddie Suttle that is a grandson of Pole Cat who is the cornerstone of our herd today. He is Broken Arrow 966 who we call High Cat. We pride ourselves with cattle with size, heat and kick and we are seeing the rewards of our labors in our bulls and their ability to compete in today’s bucking bull competitions. Outside of rodeo Brian is a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and program manager for indigent services in NE Texas. Libba is the Postmaster at Arthur City, Texas and Bryn is a senior at Clarksville High School planning on entering the University of North Texas at Denton in the fall majoring in English. We as a family place our faith first, then family and friends. We want to thank God first for all the blessings he has given us. Buckle your seat belt and come on in.
